      The stmb. J.R. CROW, with staves, sunk in 8 ft. of water at the dock at Leamington, Ont., Monday evening.

The stmb. J.D. CROW, laden with stone, which went ashore at Leamington some days
since, is reported a total loss, her bottom having gone out of her. She was owned at Chatham, and has been in service for 4 or 5 years. The bark S.D. WOODRUFF, laden with timber, which got ashore about the same time and place is also reported broken up and become valueless. She was a Canadian vessel, owned at Hamilton, Ont., and has been 23 years in service. She was 350 tons burden, and employed in the lumber trade.

      On October 7, 1874, a salvage expedition from Detroit on the tug L. L. LYON and the schooner IRON RAIL attempted to save the CROWE. The diver was John Quinn of Detroit, but following his examination of the wreck it was abandoned. "The craft lies a boat's length from Leamington Dock, on top of another wreck.
      It was discovered that the bottom of the CROWE was all broken and that her sides were smashed in, her deck, besides, is hanging into an arch " dated Oct. 7, 1874

      The wrecking tug MONITOR has recovered more material from sunken vessels on Lake Erie. Capt. Cole reports having taken out the machinery from the J.C. CROWE, sunk off Leamington in 1874. He has also raised the boiler of the prop. ECLIPSE which sunk in Lake Erie Last season.
