The Maritime History of the Great Lakes
Argo (Schooner), leak, 26 Jul 1853

Description
Full Text

The schooner ARGO, of Sacketts Harbor, says the Chicago Dem. Press, arrived yesterday morning from Oswego. The ARGO sprung a leak Tuesday morning after a hard blow. Both pumps were kept at work for several hours to free her, and one pump is necessary all the time to keep the water from her cargo. The captain entered a protest immediately on his arrival. The leak is in the vicinity of the centre board, and the vessel will probably go into dry dock for repairs.
