Sault Ste. Marie, Nov. 8. - Last evening when about 25 miles north of Point au Barques, the steamer INDIA came across the scow EUGENE, of Port Hope, showing a signal of distress. She was loaded with hay and oats, bound from Sand Beach to Au Sable, and had been dismasted. The crew were taken off by the INDIA and brought to the Soo.
