Steamer St. LAWRENCE, of 290 tons Reg. 25 years old. Home port, Montreal. On October 19, 1873 the vessel, bound from Chicago (sic) to Hamilton, caught fire near the boiler, 1 mile west of lock No. 26, Edwardsburg Canal and became total loss. No lives lost. Value of loss $20,000.
