Full Text

Capt. Williams of the Life Saving Station makes the following report. At 3:15 A.M. of the 17th, saw a schooner going ashore on the old stone breakwater; called all hands and launched the surf boat and went to her relief. Found her to the schr. NEW DOMINION. The captain requested me to get him a big tug and hawser, which I did. We made our heaving line fast to the tugs hawser and run it to the vessel. The tug was unable to pull her off on account of the high seas and winds. The captain and crew being anxious to come ashore we took them in the surf boat and brought them to the station where they were given a warm meal and provided with comfortable quarters. The names of the crew are, Capt.
Malott, mate W.R. Bates, seamen O.S. Burt, Frank Ferguson and a man whose name was not give; cook Mary Gilson.

Yesterday afternoon about 4:00 the large tug W.A. MOORE succeeded in releasing the Canadian schr. NEW DOMINION, which went on the south end of the old breakwater during Saturday's gale. Her bottom has been badly used through bumping on the breakwater and her planking is stove in, in several places.
