The Maritime History of the Great Lakes
Erie (Revenue Cutter), U7297, aground, 13 Nov 1845

Description
Full Text

In the gale of Saturday night last, from the northwest, there were doubtless many disasters, but as yet we have no further intelligence of them other than we have reported, with the exception of the U.S. Revenue Cutter ERIE, Capt. Conner, at Conneaut and also a schooner, name not reported. The Cutter, we understand, is high and dry. So far we have not heard of the loss of a single life, for which, under providence, we may be thankful.
