Conquest (Schooner), U4582, aground, 1 Apr 1868

Description
Full Text

A dispatch was received here yesterday morning from the captain of the schooner CONQUEST, announcing that his vessel had run aground on Pilot Island, in Green Bay, and asking that a tug be sent to her assistance immediately, with a hawser. The tug TIFFT has been engaged and will leave as soon as the winds change. The CONQUEST is owned by her captain, Andrew Mehr, and John Schroder, of this city. She was on her way to Oconto for a cargo of lumber, having left here at an early hour Sunday. The CONQUEST was one of the vessels beached at this point last fall. - Milwaukee Sentinel.
