IMPROVEMENT IN REEFING AND FURLING SAILS. - This invention includes a triangular topsail set immediately above the top of a fore and aft sail. The tack of the upper sail reeves through an eye-bolt on the gaff, thence up through the ring on the back of the sail to the block, and thence to the deck. The idea of thus arranging this rope is to give increased support to the jaws of the gaff, and at the same time admit of the easy handling of the topsail.
