Fairport, Oct. 12 - The schr. COLUMBIAN went ashore on Frenchy's Flat, 1/2 mile east of here, at 10:00 last night in the furious storm. The life-saving crew went to the wreck and rescued the crew from the stranded vessel. The COLUMBIAN is light and is bound from Lorain to Cleveland. She measures 356 ton gross, and was built in Green Bay in 1864. She is now owned by Chilson of Lorain.
