Full Text

Sault Ste. Marie, July 26 - The JOHN MITCHELL was released early this morning after lightering about 150 tons of her cargo. All boats delayed here got away by 8:00. The steamer SPECULAR, upbound, in trying to get past the MITCHELL, which grounded yesterday at the dyke, knocked a bucket off her wheel. She is having it replaced here. The barge MAIDA, bound down, in tow of the MARICOPA, also struck the MITCHELL and carried away a part of the latter's stern. Boats were notified not to use the channel until the MITCHELL has been released.
