Trenton, Ont. Sept. 20. - The propeller MELBORNE, from Hamilton to Montreal, with a general cargo, was burned to the water's edge last night while lying at the canal dock, about three miles from here, waiting for daylight before proceeding down the north channel. The fire started forward, but the origin is unknown. Several of the crew had narrow escapes. Cargo and boat are said to be covered by insurance. The loss is unknown.

      Cleveland, Oct. 12. - The hull and contents of the steamer MELBORNE, owned before she sank by the Merchants' Line of Montreal, has been sold by the Cleveland Underwriters to B.W. Folger of Toronto for the sum of $1,000. The steamer went down in the canal near Trenton, about three weeks ago. Her condition is such that the hull will not be worth anything to the purchaser. The Donnelly Wrecking Co., has been engaged to raise the steamer.

      Kingston, Oct. 30. - The hulk of the steamer MELBOURNE, burned and sunk at Trenton, has been raised by the Donnely Wreckin Company and towed here. The machinery and boilers are in good condition.
