STEAMERS HAND AND THEW GO ASHORE.
      Harbor Beach, Dec. 8. - The steamers C.C. HAND and THEW are ashore about one mile from Port Hope. The HAND was bound down loaded with oats. The cargo is now being thrown overboard and the weather is fine for wrecking operations. The stranded boat was formerly the wooden steamer R.E. SCHUCK and is out three feet The steamer SCOTT was also ashore, but released herself after lightering about 40,000 feet of lumber.

Detroit, Dec. 9.- The steamer C.C. HAND ashore near Port Hope, was released by the wrecker HURON CITY after jettisoning a portion of her oats cargo. The HAND passed here on her way to Buffalo. The HURON CITY will lay up here.
