Detroit, May 24. - The steamer JOHN DUNCAN, bound down, was sunk near the mouth of the Detroit River last night in collision with the up-bound steamer WISCONSIN of the Hawgood Line of Cleveland. The DUNCAN's bow was badly damaged and she was beached on Bois Blanc Island in a sinking condition. The WISCONSIN continued her trip, uninjured.

      STEAMER JOHN DUNCAN SINKS AFTER COLLISION.
      Detroit, May 24. -- The Hawgood steamer WISCONSIN, bound up, collided with the steamer JOHN DUNCAN, bound down, opposite Amherstburg at 7:45 last night. The DUNCAN's bow was smashed and she settled on the bottom at Bois Blanc Island. The WlNCONSIN passed up uninjured.

      STEAMER DUNCAN RELEASED.
Amherstburg, Ont., May 25. -- The steamer JOHN DUNCAN, which was in collision with the steamer WISCONSIN was released by the tug BROCKWAY after 100 tons of her cargo had been lightered in the NEWMAN. The DUNCAN was not seriously injured and left at once for Bar Point to reload the lightered cargo.
