The contract for raising the schooner THOMAS P. SHELDON, sunk in Lake George, was consummated on Monday evening with the Pridgeon Wrecking Company, which left Tuesday night for the scene of operations.

      The three steam pumps on the schooner SHELDON lowered the water four feet in her hold, and a canvas jacket is being placed under her and it is thought she will be raised today.

One of the steam pumps, engaged in raising the schooner THOMAS P. SHELDON in Lake gearge broke down on Friday afternoon just as she had got to the top of the water when she went down again to the bottom. The work will now be delayed until repairs are made,
