Illinois (Brig), aground, 19 Apr 1836
Description
- Full Text
BRIG ILLINOIS. - We regret to state that the above vessel on her passage from Black Rock, last evening, was becalmed when near the breach in the Black Rock Pier, made by the ice a few days since, her anchors were dropped, but they unfortunately dragged and she was carried by the current stern foremost into the breach. It is hoped that she will be got off, though serious doubts are entertained.
