The barge GEORGE W. ADAMS, which, with the steamship W.T. GRAVES ran ashore on North Manitou Island during a blinding snow storm last Saturday night, was released Wednesday afternoon. About 15,000 bushels of her cargo of corn was jettisoned. The ADAMS is but little damaged. The GRAVES lies on rocks almost her entire length, and it is believed will prove a total loss. She is in very bad shape and fast going to pieces. Her cargo consisting of 43,000 bushels of corn, is soaked with water. The swelling of her cargo has sprung her decks upwards, and her bottom is supposed to be full of holes.
