Sand Beach, May 4 - Schr. R. GIBBS waterlogged this morning off Port Austin. She lost her deckload of posts and the mainmast was carried away. The crew was taken off by Aux Barques life-savers. Wind tonight northwest, strong.

Port Huron, May 5 - The tug KITTIE HAIGHT arrived here from the wrecked schr. GIBBS. She was picked up 20 miles off White Rock. The life-saving crews from Sand Beach came down with the GIBBS and will return tomorrow if the wind shifts. The wind is still blowing hard from the northwest.
