The Maritime History of the Great Lakes
Oneida (Schooner), aground, 16 May 1867

Description
Full Text

We have already had occasion to note the misfortune that has befallen this vessel by grounding on Fighting Island some 12 days since, and the efforts of several steamers to get her afloat, but without success. It has finally been ascertained that to accomplish the desired end screws and lighters will have to be brought into requisition.
