Along the Docks

A long looked for effort to remove the old burned hulk of the schooner Powhattan from near the lower bridge is, at least, being made. One of Dobbie's steam pumps is at work on her today with a force of men and she will be raised and run out side upon the beach. Now the Sassacus!

The harbor master today asked the authorities for orders to cause the removal of the old schooner Sassacus, but did not receive them because the officials said the owner, patrick Ryan, was too poor and the city would have to stand the expense. Why not finish the business of "cleaning out" while you are at it?
