Port Colborne, Oct. 27. -- The schooner ERIE BELLE, loaded with wheat from Kincardine for Kingston, went ashore this morning behind the west pier. The tow line of the tug parted once or twice, and then the tug got disabled. The wind was blowing a gale from the west at the time, and there was a heavy sea on. It is thought that the vessel will be got off by lighting without damage as soon as the sea goes down. The vessel is making a little water.

Our Port Colborne correspondent says that the schr. ERIE BELLE, ashore at that place, is lying easy in the sand and making very little water. The steering chains of the tug towing her into the harbor gave way and she left the vessel to shift for herself with the above result. The tug CROWELL with a lighter went to her assistance this morning.

A telegram last evening states that the expedition which went to the rescue of the schr. ERIE BELLE, ashore at Port Colborne, had succeded in getting the vessel off and towing her into port, all right. She is wheat laden, and bound from Kincardine to Kingston.
