The schr. WM. HUNTER, grain laden bound from Toledo to this port, is ashore on Niagara Reef, near the Middle Sister Island, at the head of the lake. A tug and pump has gone to her assistance.

The schooner WILLIAM HUNTER bound from Toledo to Buffalo with a cargo of grain is reported ashore on Niagara Reef near Middle Reef, Lake Erie, and will probably prove a total loss. She is insured for $40,000.

The probabilities are that the schr. WM. HUNTER which is ashore and full of water on Niagara Reef, near Middle Island, will prove a total loss. The HUNTER is 10,000 bu. vessel, sailed by Capt. Doville, and owned by Doville Bros. Insured for $4,000.

The schr. WILLIAM HUNTER, ashore on Niagara Reef, has broken in two and it has been found impossible to raise her. She has been abandoned to the underwriters. The expedition sent to her relief succeeded in getting out 2,000 bu. of dry wheat and some that was wet. A good share of the outfit was also saved.

      The schooner HUNTER, laden with 8,000 bushels of grain, which ran upon a reef off Locust Point last summer, recently drifted off the reef and is now lying off Kelly's Island, directly on the steamer route to Put-In-Bay. The wreck will be removed as soon as navigation opens.
