Description
Full Text

Yesterday the steamer DUNLAP was starting from her wharf at Alpena bound for Bay City, her piston broke and shortly after her cylinder and cylinder head. Her piston rod was also bent but as she was hardly away from the whaf no other trouble followed. As soon as the accident was known here by Mr. Darius Cole, one of the proprietors of the line, he endeavored to secure a boat to take the place of the DUNLAP, and the stm. MUSIC was finally chartered, and will go onto the route at once. The work of making good the damages has already begun at Cowle's machine shop, and the parts broken will arrive in this city in a few days. It is now expected that the DUNLAP will be in good running order in about 10 days, when she will doubtless be better than ever.
