The Union Transit Co., has paid the E. & W. Transit Co., $49,000 damages for the loss of the CONEMAUGH, which was sunk by the NEW YORK near Detroit three years ago. She was raised and is now in service between Buffalo and Chicago. The E. & W. Transit Co., sued the Union Transit Co., for $70,000 charging that the captain of the NEW YORK had violated the rules of navigation.
