The steamer GREENE of Detroit, bound for Owen Sound laden with wire and coal, ran aground on a shoal west of Devil Island seven miles from Tobermory, Ont., late Thursday night. The vessel lies in an exposed position.

      The low water in all the lakes and waterways connections is still claiming attention through the unusual number of vessels running aground all over the Great Lakes. The steamer M.T. GREENE out of Cleveland, stranded on a shoal west of Devil Island, Lake Huron, in a heavy fog last Thursday night and is still lying in an exposed condition. The barge SHAWNEE which foundered outside of Cleveland, was in tow of the GREENE coming out of Cleveland.
      The steamer ANDREW UPSON, bound down, is reported aground at the head of Russel's Island.

      MARINE NEWS. - It was found necessary to jettison 68 tons of wire fence from the steamer M.T. GREENE, which went ashore recently near Tobermory.
