STEAMER ALEXANDRIA ASHORE.
Brighton, Ont. Aug. 12. - This morning the steamer ALEXANDRIA, bound from Charlotte for this port, went ashore a little southeast of Presque Isle main light, owing to a dense fog. The vessel sustained no damage. Tug CHIEFTAIN, Garden Island, is on her way to her assistance. Between 50 and 60 passengers were transferred to the steamer NELLIE CUTHBERT and brought to this place.
