The lifesaving stations at Chicago, Sheboygan, Ludington and Manistee are about to be furnished with Ramsay's patent two-brake, five inch cylinder force pumps, each of which will be furnished with 20 feet of suction pipe and 50 feet of improved hose. The pumps are to be used in cases of fires at the stations or on board of vessels. They can always be used effectively in the case of a leaking vessel, as they will discharge 280 gallons per minute.
