Ludington, Mich., Dec. 2. -- Six years ago the old schooner CONNEAUT was abandoned here, and since then has rested upon the bottom of Pere Marquette lake half submerged. Three years ago the John Schroeder Lumber Co., bought her from J. S. Stearns for $25, but allowed her to remain undisturbed. This week Capt. Shomer of the schooner GEORGE L. WRENN offered $25 for the craft on a speculation. The Schroeder Company would not sell, however. It is now said that the CONNEAUT is to be raised, repaired and converted into a towbarge for the lumber trade.

Capt. Matt Schomer of Ludington now owns the old schooner CONNEAUT, having paid the Schroeder Lumber Company $150 for her. Capt Schomer intends to take the vessel to Chicago in the spring, after she has been put in seaworthy condition, and place her upon the market for a purchaser.
