SCHOONER SUNK. --- The Schooner SAVANNAH, Captain Owens, which left this port on the 22nd. inst, was run foul of on the following morning near Conneaut, by the Schooner MARION, and sunk in seven fathoms of water. The SAVANNAH was on her way to Chicago, with a cargo of 240 barrels of salt, 150 kegs of powder, and a lot of household goods and farming utensils. The cargo and vessel were owned principally by Mr. O. Lee, of Silver Creek. The former will probably be a total loss, but the vessel may be raised again.
From one who was on board the S. we learn that the night was hazy, and that the MARION struck the other vessel on the starboard bow, causing her to sink in fifteen minutes thereafter. Capt. Owens and his wife were on board, and had barely time to escape from the cabin with their night clothes, before the vessel went down. - - Buff. Com. Adv.
