      The steamers HARRY COULBY and W.S. WILKINSON of the United States Transportation Company's fleet dragged their anchors while at the breakwater during the heavy wind early this morning and grounded on the beach at the foot of Michigan street. The steamers' signals for distress were heard by the tug CASCADE which went to their assistance, but was unable to hold them in deep water. Both are resting easily on sand bars and it is not expected that there will be any difficulty in pulling them off.

      Wreckers SNOOK and DOUGLAS are Still Lying on the Bottom.
      The steamers HARRY COULBY and HORACE WILKINSON, which were blown aground on a shoal about a thousand feet from the shore at the foot of South Michigan street during the wind storm which swept over the lakes a few days ago, were released yesterday and have cleared from port. The steamer SNOOK and the wrecker DOUGLAS, owned by Captain William H, Baker, are still on the bottom near Guinea Bay.
Immediately after the storm the pumps of the COULBY and WILKINSON were set in motion, and it was not long before the water bottoms were pumped dry. The boats were then easily floated. No damage was done to either vessel and both cleared from this port yesterday afternoon, the WILKINSON for Toledo and the COULBY for Superior.
The wreckers, the SNOOK and the DOUGLAS, which went to the bottom near Guinea Bay, are still undisturbed, and no effort has as yet been made to release them. They are, however, in no immediate danger, and as Captain Baker is concentrating his attention on the raising of the wrecked steamer WILLIAM C. RICHARDSON, nothing will probably be done for some time towards floating them.
