STEAMER SLIGHTLY DAMAGED IN COLLISION, REACHES PORT
The steamer WILKES-BARRE of the The Lehigh Valley Transportation Company's fleet arrived in port yesterday morning with a slight list to starboard as the result of a collision with the lightship KEWANEE, stationed above the sunken steamer JOLIET in the St. Clair river, opposite Port Huron, on Saturday morning. The lightship was considerably damaged, but it is likely that she can be kept in place.
An investigation will be made. The WILKES-BARRE was only damaged slightly , but a thorough inspection of her hull will be made before she again leaves port.
