The $350,000 steel freighter NORTH STAR, owned by the Mutual Transportation Company, was slightly damaged by fire at Cleveland when fire broke out in a cargo of oakum and paint while the vessel lay at the B. & O. Docks in that city. The damage to the cargo was small.
