The schooner MERCURY is ashore at Pentwater. The schooner LUCKY is high and dry at Manistee; the schooner WAUBASHENE is on the beach 5 miles above Point Edward; the schooner SAMANA is on the beach east of Port Colborne. The schooner SUMATRA is on the beach at Cleveland; the large river tug J.P. CLARK capsized and sunk at Belle Isle, Detroit River and sank in 15 minutes. One drowned. The schooner PINTO of Oakville, Ont., stone laden went down in 30 feet of water about 1 mile down from Oakville. At Sand Beach the barge PRAIRIE STATE is rapidly going to pieces.

The schr. SAMANA of Toledo, for Oswego, which went ashore near Port Colborne on the 20th will be a total wreck. The severe gale of Saturday carried her further on the reef, the sea breaking over her. Seven thousand bushels of grain were saved and the crew rescued with difficulty by a life-boat.

The schr. SAMANA which went ashore at Port Colborne a week ago, was pulled off Wednesday afternoon by 3 tugs, and immediately towed to this port, arriving Wednesday night. She was placed in Messrs. R. Mills & Co.'s drydock. The vessel is in very bad shape. Her keel is partly gone, and the sternpost, forefoot, centereboard and head ledges are much damaged.
