STEAMER CHARLES NEFF IS HARD AGROUND.
Detroit, May 25. -- The steamer CHARLES NEFF, up-bound with a cargo of railroad iron, ran hard aground on the west bank at the Lime Kiln Crossing yesterday through the parting of her wheel chains. The boat is leaking badly in the after compartment and is out a foot all around. The lighter NEWMAN and tug BROCKWAY have gone to

Amherstburg, May 25 - About 200 tons of coal have been lightered from the steamer CHARLES NEFF by the tug BROCKWAY and lighter NEWMAN, but the vessel is still fast on the rocks at the Limekiln. The NEFF's pumps are just able to keep her free of water.

      SINALOA GOES ON AT HARSEN'S ISLAND.
Detroit, May 28. - The steamer SINALOA, bound up, ran on the head of Harsen's Island in St. Clair river yesterday. The tugs BROCKWAY and SARNIA are at work on her. Temporary repairs have stopped the leak in the steamer CHARLES NEFF at Windsor, and after reloading her cargo of railroad iron she will proceed to Fort William.
