The schooner SNOWBIRD, while entering Oswego harbour, at 10 o'clock this morning, missed the tug's line and ran ashore. She is loaded with lumber, and will probably be a total loss. The life-saving crew rescued the sailors.

THE SNOW BIRD. -- The following accident occurred to the crew of the schooner SNOW BIRD ashore at Oswego: When the tug MORLEY's line was being let go it picked up the yawl and smashed it on the cabin. The yawl struck Captain Beard a hard blow on the back of the head and neck but did not disable him. Daniel Sullivan, the cook, was almost frightened to death. When coming out of the cabin a sea boarded the vessel, knocking a door violently against him, felling him to the deck and almost washing him overboard. He was in a very exhausted condition. He is an old man and is said to have been a soldier at Fort Ontario several years ago.

The suit brought by Arthur Clarkson, owner of the schooner SNOWBIRD, against the Great Western Insurance Company for the recovery of about $3,500 insurance on the vessel, which was almost totally wrecked last fall, was settled at Oswego on Friday. The insurance company will pay Mr. Clarkson $2,200 and give him the wreck of the SNOWBIRD, on which they will pay all bills.
