LOADED EXCURSION BOAT IN COLLISION AT DETROIT.
Detroit, June 22. -- The steamer CITY OF ALPENA received a hole in her bulwark above the water line yesterday afternoon in a collision with the excursion steamer BRITTANIA. The ALPENA was shifting to permit the NORTH WEST to dock when the accident occurred. The flagpole and some of the forward stanchions of the BRITANNIA were broken. The collision caused a brief panic among the excursion passengers but no one was injured.
