SEVERE GALE ON LAKE HURON. -- The Detroit Advertiser of yesterday remarks: -- A very severe storm occurred on Lake Huron Friday and Saturday last, causing great distruction among vessels, and it is feared many lives have been lost. A large fleet of vessels arrived from above Sunday and Monday, from whom we have collected the following items of news:
The schooner MIDNIGHT, from Lake Superior, with ore, threw overboard 30 tons to prevent her foundering. Her flying jib was carried away.
The schooner FORTUNE is reported hard aground above Hog Island, her small boat gone, and gangways washed away.
