Reid has given up the attempt to dredge a channel to the schooner GOLDEN FLEECE, ashore at Dunkirk, Lake Erie. Several heavy lines have been parted in attempting to pull the schooner into deep water after she was jacked up. It is probable that she will spend another winter on the beach.
