Mackinaw, Sept. 29. -- Several boats are sheltered under St. Helena. Wind is blowing a west gale. On account of the storm nothing has yet been done towards releasing the OMAHA from Grey's Reef. No news from the SACHEM on Gull Island.

Chicago, Oct. 8. -- Wrecking master Calleck telegraphed this morning that the steamer SACHEM had been rescued from Gull Island reef and was at Duncan City with shoe gone and 100 tons of ore jettisoned. She will be towed to Detroit for repairs. She had been on the reef for ten days and was generally considered a total loss.
