The propeller BELLE P. CROSS ran on the rocks near Gooseberry River, Mich., while in a blinding snow and wind storm Wednesday morning. The crew landed safely and a tug and diver were sent to the boat as soon as the news was reported. She was loaded with timber.

In the blinding snow storm early on Wednesday morning the steamer BELLE P. CROSS with a cargo of timber ran on the rocks near Gooseberry River. The crew got to shore safely.

      The propeller BELLE P. CROSS which stranded in the gale a few days ago near Gooseberry River, Minn., is a total wreck. The CROSS was valued at $14,000 and carried no insurance.
