The Maritime History of the Great Lakes
Hungarian (Schooner), struck pier, 11 Nov 1878

Description
Full Text

A private dispatch from Muskegon says the schooner HUNGARIAN struck the pier there on Monday night and stove in her bow. The damage is quite serious, and is attributed to the fact that the light on the pier is 250 or 300 feet from the end. This is one more count in support of our demand that the various pier lights shall be placed on the end of the pier.
