TUGS IN COLLISION.
Buffalo, N. Y., July 2. -- While engaged in racing for a tow in the lake off this port yesterday the tug CASCADE of the Great Lakes Towing Company was struck by the tug PEERLESS of the Maytham Line and nearly sunk in deep water. A large hole was torn in the bow of the CASCADE and she was headed for shore at full speed. She was beached just in time to prevent sinking, and her crew were taken off by the PEERLESS, which followed to render any assistance possible.
