The CITY OF MONTREAL went to pieces on Michipicoten Isle Saturday. On Friday she was overtaken by a severe gale and her engine breaking down she became unmanagable and was beached. The crew and passengers reached the island and remained there until Sunday when they were taken to Sault Ste. Marie. The MONTREAL's tow, the MANHATTAN is missing.
