A New Steam Dredge- Messrs. John King & Co., of the Vulcan Works, are constructing the machinery for a new dredge, the working parts of which will be much stronger and heavier than those now in use. The hull for the machinery is under construction near the west pier. The dredge will be ready for operating at the opening of navigation next spring, and will cost, with dump scows and entire outfit, about $12,000.

Messrs. King and Co., have a national reputation for building dredges and already have orders for five new ones.
