The passenger steamer KALAMAZOO and the PILGRIM collided in mis lake shortly after midnight Wednesday morning. A great hole was stove in the bow of the KALAMAZOO. The PILGRIM rescued the 50 passengers and crew while the KALAMAZOO soon sank.
