The big storm on Lake Michigan has cost the lives of many men... The schooner LINCOLN DALL went to pieces at Glencoe, 8 miles north of Chicago. She was 196 tons.
The schooner JACK THOMPSON , 199 tons, wrecked off 25th street...
The schooner EVENING STAR, 203 tons wrecked off 27th street but her crew was saved.
The schooner MERCURY of Grand Haven, 218 tons wrecked off 27th street but her crew was saved.
The schooner RAINBOW of Milwaukee, 243 tons, wrecked off 22nd street, crew rescued.

      Chicago, May 19. -- The vessels lost here were the schooners EVENING STAR, C.G. MIXER, MYRTLE, LINCON DALL, JACK THOMPSON, J. LOOMIS McLAREN, MERCURY AND RAINBOW.

      Steamer E.C. TICE, ashore at Green Bay, Wis.
      Scow St. CATHERINES, ashore, Sand Beach, Mich,
      Schooner MYRTLE LAMP, ashore, Menominee, Mich.
      Steamer HUDSON, disabled Lake Michigan.
      Schooner EMILY TAYLOR, ashore, Manitowoc, Wis.
      Schooner ISHPEMING, disabled, Alpena, Mich.
      Schooner SIZER, ashore, Menominee, Mich.
      Schooner WILLIAM SHUPE, adrift near Point Sanilac
