Steam Boat Burned - We regret to state, that the news was yesterday received in town of the total destruction of the Varcanes steam boat by fire, nearly opposite St. Ours, on her return trip from Chambly to this city. The fire is stated to have been accidental in its origin, though the particulars, we believe, are not yet known in town. The fire spread very rapidly, and it is said that the passengers had not even time to save their baggage. No person, on board was hurt. The Varcanes was the property of John Molson, Esq., of this city. - Mont. Trans.
