"On the night of July 15, 1926 BRULIN was upbound in ballast from Montreal for Port Colborne, when she rammed and sank the Sincennes-MacNaughton Ltd. (Sin-Mac) tug EMMA L. off Ile Perrot in Lake St. Louis. Six of the tugs crew of seven were lost.

EMMA L. was built at Farran's Point, Ont. in 1903. Launched as D. S. WALKER [C.116543] for the Canadian Construction Co. Ltd., of Montreal. The wooden tug was later sold to Sin-Mac and renamed. Her general dimensions were 68.4 x 14.8 x 7.8; 56 g.t.; 22 n.t. She was powered by a 40 hp steam engine. This tug had previously sunk in Montreal harbour, on September 26, 1917. On that occasion, a tow rope snapped and the propeller wash from the ocean-going steamship she was assisting swamped her. Three lives were lost in that accident."
