Description
Full Text

South Haven, Mich., Sept. 25. -- The little schooner ALLEAN, of this place, arrived here last night and dropped anchor behind the north pier at 8:45 o'clock. She parted her chain at 10:50 and went ashore. She is high and dry and is not damaged any. She cleared from Chicago, in command of Captain Frederick Dawson, and is owned by Dr. Ransom. She is a new boat and this was her first trip. There was a heavy sea at the time, and the wind was brisk from the west. No lives lost.
