The barge SAMSON of Wallaceburg, loaded with gravel for Marine City foundered on the beach above Point Edward during the north blow that set in on Sunday. The barge was a total wreck, breaking into pieces that were scattered over the beach. The crew got off safely and the wheelbarrows and other tools and appliances used in loading the barge were saved.
