The Chicago Democrat of the 7th instant, says: The schooner MERCHANT is reported lost on Lake Huron, and the crew, consisting of five persons, drowned.

The master of the schooner D.N. BARNEY arrived here today, and reports that he heard at Detroit that the schooner MERCHANT was wrecked on Point Aux Barques, and had lost five of her crew. The information was received from two of the survivors of the crew, then in Detroit. - - - Herald.
